Equal Housing Opportunity

Once you lease a unit with Section 8 assistance, you are considered a program “participant.” Because you can lose your voucher if you do not adhere to program requirements, you should keep your Briefing Packet in a safe place and read your Voucher from time to time to remind yourself of the requirements.

More about the rules governing the program can be found at www.hud.gov

Listed in this section are some of the most common areas of participant issues and questions; however, this web site does not cover all rules and regulations and for definitive answers you should discuss areas of concern with Housing Agency staff.
