Author Ed Rice Presents Louis Sockalexis @ Caribou Public Library

October 17 @ 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm

Join Mr. Rice as he tells the story of Louis Sockalexis, the man who inspired the nickname for the Cleveland professional baseball team in 1897. He paved the way for other American Indian baseball players, such as Jim Thorpe and Hall of Fame pitcher Charlie Bender. The story of Louis Sockalexis is the perfect blending of Maine history and baseball! Fans of either won’t want to miss this!
