Applicant must have a high school diploma or equivalent; experience or trade certification in heavy truck operation or similar field; and a minimum of a Class-B Commercial Driver’s License with air brakes. Compliance with federally mandated drug screening for CDL holders is required by law.

Water/Wastewater Technician Position
The Caribou Utilities District is an independent, quasi-municipal organization providing vital public health and safety services to 2,000 customers in the City of Caribou. We are currently seeking an entry level operator technician. The successful applicant will learn all operational aspects of a municipal water distribution and treatment system and a municipal wastewater collection and treatment system.
The person selected will possess the ability and desire to rapidly achieve proper licensing and become a responsible operator of critical processes and systems. Certain physical capabilities are required as is a mechanical and technical aptitude. Must have a high school diploma and meaningful work experience. CDL, post-secondary education in environmental science, industrial electronics or mechanical and electrical trades is preferred. Computer and writing skills are desirable. The City of Caribou is presently seeking candidates to add to its roster for Reserve Officers. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age, possess a high school diploma or GED, hold a valid Maine driver’s license with no adverse driving record, and have passed the Maine Criminal Justice Academy ALERT test. Preference will be given to candidates who have successfully completed the Maine Criminal Justice Law Enforcement Pre-Service Program. The pay rate for Reserve Officers is $14.00 per hour.
