Volunteers Needed at the Nylander Museum
Hosting/Hostessing on Saturday afternoons: Show visitors the natural wonders of Central Aroostook County through fossils, shells, butterflies, mounted animals, and other strange and wonderous artifacts. Two hours on a Saturday afternoon during the cold of winter helps the Nylander stay open more hours. Volunteer once a month or even every other Saturday!
Restoring the herb garden alongside the parking lot. We especially need help with this during the winter… Just kidding! Volunteers could start now and then continue in the spring.
Painting: The Museum has an old chalkboard, and the frame and chalk tray needs painting. Then the chalkboard needs to be hung in place. There would be other projects as we move along.
Developing activities for children of all ages. The Board is creating a more contemporary, interactive, more hands-on approach to the displays and exhibits. Come join us and give us ideas and even help us develop this new look.
Developing the website: Our official website is part of the City of Caribou’s site. Help us design and keep updated the changes, programs, and information so visitors can find and be informed about what is happening at the Nylander.
Please fill out the application below for what interests you and mail to City Office, Attn: Gail Hagelstein, 25 High Street, Caribou ME 04736 or email to Gail Hagelstein.
