MicroFiction Storytelling Event – Caribou Public Library

May 22, 2018 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

@ Caribou Public Library in the Piper Reading Room

FMI: Contact Anastasia Weigle at 493-4214 or email librarydirector@cariboumaine.org

In the middle of our busy lives, none of us have time to write a 30,000-60,000-word novel. But if you love to write, we have a fun solution for you.  We are challenging our participants to write a microfiction story in 200 words or less. Participants are invited to read their microfiction stories at the event. If you have a story but are unable to attend, please send your story to us via email (librarydirector@cariboumaine.org) or drop it off during library hours, and we will assign one of our staff to read your story.

Microfiction tells a story in must less words in a standard short story word count and has the same elements as a standard storyline—a beginning, a middle, and an end. Microfiction, also known as flash fiction, has found its place in modern circles of literature.
