Public Invited to Review Draft Riverfront Master Plan at June 16 Hearing

The Caribou Riverfront Redevelopment Committee will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, June 16, at 6:00 PM in the Caribou City Council Chambers to gather community feedback on the Draft Riverfront Master Plan.

The Riverfront Master Plan is intended to guide future redevelopment and investment along key portions of the Aroostook River corridor. The planning effort focuses on improving public access to the river, expanding recreation opportunities, celebrating the community’s riverfront history, and supporting future economic development and tourism.

Draft concepts currently being evaluated include potential waterfront parks, trails, river access improvements, boating amenities, gathering spaces, recreation facilities, and other community-oriented uses. The concept materials identify three primary focus areas along the river corridor and illustrate potential opportunities for future development.

The committee encourages residents, businesses, and community stakeholders to review the draft concepts and provide feedback before the master plan is finalized.

Residents may also visit the City’s booth during Thursdays on Sweden Street to learn more about the project and share comments.
